An official launch celebration and signing is taking place at 7 PM at McNally Robinson Bookstores at Grant Park in the Atrium. In the Moment was born out of a picture that was placed in author Arlene Joy’s heart a few years ago by her God. It was an image of an old bench sitting along an old dirt road. The road was deserted at times and at other times, people young and old would play, walk, run, and just sit… It became clear to her that this dirt road represented the view of life’s road from her “bench.” God, then impressed on Arlene that if she would invite Him to join her on the bench, on her life’s journey, the eyes of her heart would see each person she would encounter, every situation she would meet, through His own eyes of Hope.

Arlene Joy has been writing since she was a young girl. From her first Christmas poem in her local Carillon News in Steinbach, to her latest entry some 45 years later and everything in between. She shares her life in Blumenort with her husband Bruce, with whom she rejoices in her growing family.
