Doreen Pchajek is a former nurse from Ste. Anne, Manitoba. She is the founder/chairperson of Stacey Pchajek Memorial Foundation Inc, which is a nonprofit, charitable organization that provides scholarships, bursaries, and prizes to students graduating grades 8 and 12 in southeast Manitoba.
In 1998 Doreen was faced with the Ultimate Tragedy, which is the greatest tragedy that any parent can ever face; the death of her only daughter. This experience has changed her life forevermore. She decided to write about her life-altering experience in the hopes that it could help others who are faced with a similar tragedy and give others a better understanding of what the bereaved parent goes through.
